The Los Angeles Lakers are a member of the Western Conference in the Pacific Division of the National Basketball Association. The Los Angeles Lakers have played at Staples Center since 1999.
The Los Angeles Lakers were established in 1946 as the Detroit Gems. They played in Detroit until 1947, when they moved to Minneapolis and became the Minneapolis Lakers.. In 1960 they moved to Los Angeles and were re-named the Los Angeles Lakers. The team has won a total of 22 division titles, 32 conference titles, and 17 championships (1 NBL)! This season, with star players Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, the Lakers are looking forward to a successful season and ultimately take home their 17th NBA championship!
